Establishment of PT OSAKA GAS INDONESIA
--Commencement of Natural Gas Joint Marketing Business in Indonesia with Pertamina Group--

Osaka Gas Co., Ltd., (“Osaka Gas”) has established PT OSAKA GAS INDONESIA (“OGIDN”) in Republic of Indonesia, which has been followed by the conclusion of the Joint Marketing Agreement between OGIDN and PT. Pertagas Niaga, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) (“Pertamina Group”). With a license issued in Indonesia on October 18, 2018, OGIDN has launched a natural gas joint marketing business in partnership with PT. Pertagas Niaga, which makes Indonesia the third country in Southeast Asia for Osaka Gas to develop an energy business besides Singapore and Thailand.
In light of the expected energy demand increase driven by the economic growth in Indonesia, Osaka Gas established a representative office in Jakarta in October 2016 and studied possibility of operating energy business in the country by utilizing its expertise of providing energy solutions to meet the consumer needs of energy saving. Under the agreement with Pertamina Group, the largest energy company in Indonesia, Osaka Gas aims to contribute to energy conservation and environmental footprint reduction in the country by promoting efficient energy use and fuel switching to natural gas.
In addition, Osaka Gas is preparing to launch energy service business in Indonesia that support customers in introducing natural gas facilities to their plants with financing schemes, planning to expand the business over wider areas across the country.
Under the Long-Term Management Vision 2030 “Going Forward Beyond Borders,” Daigas Group aims to accelerate its international energy business expansion with focus on Southeast Asia as the strategic region of mid- and downstream business development by meeting the market needs in the region and its surrounding areas where growth of natural gas demand is expected.
