Osaka Gas’ residential polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) cogeneration system
About Osaka Gas’cell evaluation technology

Required performance as a product

Osaka Gas is carrying out development work taking into account the following factors so that fuel cells can enter widespread use in general households. Of these, the durability of the fuel cell main body, one of the most important challenges in the development of fuel cells, is being evaluated by Osaka Gas.

Power generation performance The power generation efficiency is over 35% (with reference to LHV).
Reliability
Startup is stable.
A change in the temperature, degree of humidity, gas flow rate, or similar factors from normal conditions does not have large adverse effects.
Cost Costs of cell stacks in the commercially widespread period will be 30,000 to 50,000 yen.
Durability
Durability of 80,000 hours at maximum is required for 10 years of use.
  • ※LHV stands for Lower Heating Value.
