Osaka Gas conducts routine inspections of some 500 cogeneration systems installed in its service area as part of its maintenance operations. Like doctors' health examinations, the routine inspection is an effective method for the early discovery of abnormalities in cogeneration systems by evaluating the operation data and using the five senses of human inspectors. In these routine inspections, it is important to collect and compile huge amounts of operation data and to understand the conditions of the facility. Osaka Gas' "Junkai-kun" inspection tool uses a pen tablet PC to systematize a series of operations from data recording to facility operation trend management.
