Gas Transmission and Supply Technologies

SCADA system for the gas supply network

Outline

The Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, we call LUNASOLA, for the gas supply network is the system which controls and watches the gas supply network and transmission facilities in the Kansai area for 24 hours-a-day all the year around continuously. Osaka Gas safely and stably supplies gas with this system.

Composition

The system is chiefly composed of the central system in Osaka City and the backup system in Kyoto City and the monitoring terminals in each branch offices. These systems control and watch the gas supply network in collaboration, and we use in a main center, a back-up center, and branch offices. The radio network is used as the means of communication between two bases. Both systems always watch the network, and the control operation is done only by the system which has the right to control the system. The information of controlling, right to control, and various set value are shared between the two systems.

Conclusion

This system has been replacing to the one which controls and watches our transmission facilities from high pressure to midium pressure B, and it will be completed in 2010.
