Osaka Gas participates in an LNG receiving terminal project in Taiwan

Osaka Gas announced today its equity participation in an LNG receiving terminal project in Taiwan jointly with Kansai Electric Power, Inc. It is the first joint overseas business venture by the two companies.

The two companies, each holding a 3.125%, have made an equity participation in Tun Ting Gas Corporation in Taiwan which is a locally incorporated gas company promoting a second LNG terminal in ROC.

The gas from the terminal will be supplied to Tai PowerÕs Ta Tan power plant, scheduled to become operational in December 2003, as well as to adjacent IPP plants being planned.
