September 28, 2004 Osaka Gas Enters into Agreement with Chubu Electric for Construction of New Pipeline Osaka Gas entered into an agreement with Chubu Electric Power Company for construction of a new pipeline. The agreement has been reached further to the joint study the two companies announced in July last year. According to the agreement, the two companies will construct a pipeline to connect a regulator station located on the northern end of the Shiga Pipeline, which is currently being built by Osaka Gas and is scheduled for completion in 2006, with Yokkaichi Power Station of Chubu Electric (refer to map below). Called Mie-Shiga Pipeline, the planned pipeline is about 60 kilometer
in its length with the diameter of 600mm and the design pressure of 7Mpa.
The construction is scheduled for completion towards 2010. Upon completion
of the pipeline, it is expected that the pipeline will contribute to ensuring
greater stability and flexibility of natural gas supply for the two companies.
